Tasting Room Associate

We are looking for a Tasting Room Associate to work at our Monarcha Tasting Room (and our Bodega Tasting Room as needed) locations to help serve wines and provide great customer experiences. This is a Seasonal position that will go from March until about the end of October, with some hours reaching November potentially. You would be working events, weekends, and any other days you're available to help out.

This candidate would help to grow the Palencia brand as a whole and assist with the overall scaling of the business. The ideal candidate would have previous wine industry experience and enjoy working with people. Sales skills from other industries are a plus. Ideal candidate will also exhibit a professional appearance to elevate the brand image. Schedule would be approximately every other Friday and Saturday, with open Thursday and Sunday availability to work.

Our open hours would include the following:

Sunday, Monday, Tuesday: 12 – 6 pm

Thursday, Friday: 12-7 pm

Saturday: 11 – 7 pm

Responsibilities:

• Opening and closing the till
• Opening procedures, including cleaning tables, putting out signs, making sure Tasting Room is neat and tidy
• Setting up Tasting Room and making sure bar counter is clean and tidy
• Opening wine bottles and pouring flights or glasses for customers
• Having high quality customer interactions using our Orderport POS system
• Stocking wine in the Tasting Room
• Learning and understanding our current tasting menu in order to best serve customers
• Creating and presenting charcuterie trays to customers
• Be comfortable interacting with customers and knowing how to sell the wine
• Cleaning and polishing wine glasses
• Closing procedures, including floor mopping, cleaning tables, closing the till, taking out trash, cleaning bathrooms, and making sure the Tasting Room is neat and tidy.
• Be able to lift 50 lbs regularly if needed.
• Able to cover shifts for other employees

Required Qualifications:

• Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday Availability
• Weekend and evening availability
• Must be at least 21 years old
• Must be able to obtain MAST license within 30 days of hire
• Must be able to obtain Food Handlers Card
• Proficient in basic POS systems
• Be comfortable selling to and interacting with customers about wine
• Be willing to work both our Monarcha Tasting Room (Kennewick), and our other location (West Richland)

Pay: $16.28 - $18.00 per hour
