Duties Description Job DutiesThe duties of the Talent Acquisition Specialist-Sourcing Specialist- will include, but not be limited to, the following: Coordinate and meet with hiring managers to identify qualifications and selection criteria.Support the Sourcing Lead with the interview process including the training and selection of search committee members, attending interviews, and guiding the candidate experience for recruitment as a participant and NYSTRS ambassadorSource potential candidates through online channels (e.g. social platforms and professional networks)Provide general information on NYSTRS benefits and company culture to prospective candidatesManage respective candidate pools to ensure qualified candidates remain engaged in current or future opportunitiesPlan interview and selection procedures, including screening calls, assessments, and in-person interviewsReview candidate information, including resumes and contact details, using our Application Tracking System to assist with sourcing effortsAssist and coordinate employer branding initiatives alongside the Talent Acquisition Sourcing Lead and Recruitment Marketing Specialist that supports diversity, equity, and inclusion hiring goalsOrganize and attend job fairs and recruitment events and serve as a secondary liaison for all college activities, including in-person and virtual attendance of fairs, seminars, and presentationsAssist with the coordination of the summer internship program and the Investment Fellowship post-graduate programFoster long-term relationships with past applicants and potential candidatesCollaborate with the Recruitment Marketing Specialist and Talent Acquisition Sourcing Lead on developing content for attracting applicants based on organizational needs and strategic focus
Additional Comments Position SummaryThe Talent Acquisition Sourcing Specialist will support the sourcing, attracting, and interviewing of prospective employees for NYSTRS that align with organizational needs and initiatives. Additionally, the incumbent will service hiring managers and search committees through the full recruitment life cycle in partnership with HR staff. This position will work closely with department management, HR management, and the Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (DEI) team to successfully execute both short and long-term recruitment priorities and initiatives.Preferred QualificationsMA degree in Human Resources and Organizational Psychology, or a similar relevant field; will substitute one year of professional work experience.Experience and/or knowledge of the NYS Civil Service SystemsHands-on experience with full-cycle recruiting using various interview techniques and evaluationsExcellent understanding of recruitment processes and candidate selection methodsHands-on experience with application tracking systems like Clear Company, Workday, Handshake, etc.Experience with program development, coordination, implementation and assessmentDemonstrated ability to network and establish professional relationships with internal and external customersOutstanding organizational and time management skills, including the ability to multitask and prioritize daily workload and adjust accordinglyExcellent communication, interpersonal skills, and customer service experienceImpeccable written, verbal, and presentation skills, with sharp attention to detailAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionCreative thinker and proactive problem solverDemonstrated experience working in a team environmentStrong computer skills, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, and the ability to learn quicklyPlease note: 2024-2025 salary schedules will be shared as soon as they are available.
