BlueLinx is looking for an experienced recruiter with a focus on commercial drivers . The recruiter will provide strategic and tactical leadership to all management levels and employees on matters related to employee recruitment. Implements recruiting and sourcing strategies through efficient and cost-effective methods to meet the company’s current and future talent needs. Partners with other HR colleagues, Regional Vice Presidents, and Regional Directors of Operations to ensure recruiting programs are aligned with BlueLinx’s overall talent strategy. This role will focus on the Drivers, Forklift Operators, and business facing/branch roles.
Responsibilities:
- Partners with business units to ensure alignment between recruiting needs and recruiting strategy; confirm search requests that clearly indicate key responsibilities, requirements, environmental conditions, compensation, etc.
- Implements hiring methodologies that will ensure effective and efficient review of candidates while maintaining the quality of employees. Monitors recruiting metrics to ensure alignment with business direction and adjusts as needed.
- Manages relations with outside employment agencies, recruiters, and targeted schools.
- Provides high-touch account management to the senior leaders/hiring managers; ensures client satisfaction; develops processes for screening resumes, routing candidate information to hiring managers, and scheduling/coordinating interviews; maintain cost-effective recruiting sources and marketing plans; and negotiate offers with candidates.
- Consults with managers regarding contract employee hiring and utilization; ensure compliance with complex state, federal, and IRS employment laws; manages quality improvement processes; identifies long-term competency and diversity needs.
- Establishes and maintains candidate database of pre-qualified to meet current and anticipated staffing needs through direct sourcing, networking, internet, and database searches.
- Interviews and screens candidates to ensure their qualifications meet the requirements of open positions.
- Conducts and/or directs assessments/skills testing, office interviews, reference checks, and background investigations.
- College Degree a plus.
- 2 plus years of experience in high volume recruitment; driver recruitment highly preferred.
- Planning, communications, and people skills to ensure coordinated efforts across the group or business units.
- Broad knowledge of employment laws and regulations and company policies/processes.
- Recruiting and candidate tracking software experience.
- Success-oriented recruitment experience; in-house corporate recruitment experience; expert knowledge with internet search tools/techniques and state-of-the-art assessments, search and recruiting methodologies.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite Software and relevant tools/technology.
- Ability to create and execute a wide range of recruiting initiatives and implement new systems as required.
- An absolute self-starter with the ability to manage a requisition load in excess of twenty-five and be the point of contact for recruiting for an entire region.
