About the Role
This role will provide overall technical direction among the engineering domain leads (software, hardware, and mechanical Project Leads) for an Intelligent-Cockpit system, and act as a single point of contact for the engineering team. This role is the technical counterpart to the customer lead engineer for the awarded project. This role requires a "whatever it takes" attitude using diplomatic leadership skills within a collaborative teamwork environment to accomplish the necessary results.
Your Team
There are no direct reports for this position. This role will be responsible for the engineering development and execution of a multi-year project that includes a cross-functional team of approximately 50 engineers.
What You Will Do
- Provide overall technical direction among the engineering domain leads (software, hardware, and mechanical Project Leads) and act as the single point of escalation for the engineering team.
- Manage product development to be executed within the assigned program KPI for performance, stability, time, cost (BOM and EDD), and development quality.
- Ensure that the overall engineering team structure and staffing are set up and maintained with highly talented and capable team members through the assigned projects.
- Ensure the development and testing of the customer project is completed to meet all requirements (functional and performance) within the planned time, cost, and development quality targets of the program.
- Be the technical leader to drive challenging technical issues with a "whatever it takes" attitude keeping in mind the quality and integrity of the product.
- Present to both internal and external management with clear communication.
- Interfaces with the customer on systems-level issues to clarify and define the optimal solution.
- Support / consult internal engineering organizations with DFMEA creation, thermal management, signal integrity studies, schematic reviews, software design reviews, DVP&R, warranty, and special investigations.
What You Need
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent
- 10+ years of overall experience
- Hands-on experience in embedded systems software development
- Experience working with multidisciplinary and multi-national engineering teams in the development of complex systems from architecture to implementation.
- Proven and recent hands-on project/product development expertise in electrical, electromechanical, software, or Systems Engineering.
- A significant system architectural knowledge of automotive systems such as infotainment, digital cockpit, ADAS systems.
- Ability to articulate vision and influence decision-making outcomes with internal stakeholders, external suppliers, and the customer.
- Proven and effective communication, analytical, judgment, initiative, and execution skills.
- Experience in customer-facing roles.
What is Nice to Have
- Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent
- Experience with thermal management, signal integrity, Functional Safety ASIL B, and/or multi-board ECUs.
- Experience with Qualcomm SOCs.
- Previous experience as an embedded hardware/SW developer
- Previous experience in embedded system optimization and launch issue resolution as a hands-on contributor.
- Prior experience as an engineering leader.
- Systems Engineering and/or Architecture experience.
- Vehicle systems and network architecture practical knowledge
- Automotive business landscape knowledge
- Experience with hardware or mechanical design of complex automotive products
