Engineer, validate, and release product dimensional specifications, and lead dimensional strategies of subsystems, including variation management, of passenger vehicle (passenger car, truck and sport utility vehicle, van) designs to achieve vehicle dimensional requirements of body in white (BIW) systems including underbody structures, upper body structures including body side outers, body side inners, and crash rings, from electronic Statement of Requirements (eSORs) to Start of Regular Production (SORP). Execute and support dimensional variation analysis using 1D tolerance stack up analysis, evaluate subsystem and vehicle level build variation and assure passenger and light commercial vehicles are designed taking into account assembly and manufacturing process variation, using Siemens NX, Teamcenter, Vismockup, Vismockup Variation Simulation Analysis (VisVSA), Altair SimSolid, and Engineering Change Management (ECM) tools. Support program specific datum strategy, datum coordination with manufacturing fixtures, verifying checking fixture design, gage executions, verifying dimensional matching requirements, verifying action plans and providing solutions for manufacturing process improvements.
Additional Description
Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field, and one (1) year of experience as an Engineer, or related role. Must also have experience with: engineering and releasing product dimensional specifications, performing or leading dimensional strategies of subsystems, of passenger vehicle designs to achieve vehicle dimensional requirements of body in white (BIW) systems.
