Job Description
Perform Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) analysis to design, develop and validate conventional ICE passenger vehicle and Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) brake corners including calipers, brackets, knuckles, rotors, pads, dust shields and wheels and pedal assemblies, using HyperWorks (HyperGraph, HyperView, HyperMesh), ABAQUS, STAR CCM+, ANSA, LS-DYNA, MATLAB tools. Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and conduct structural, fatigue, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulation, thermal and Noise, Vibration, and Harshness (NVH) analysis to evaluate design performance of passenger vehicle Brake Systems and components, using above CAE tools. Use and apply optimization techniques, Design of Experiments (DOE) and Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) to develop methods which improves the performance of entire brake system. Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for noise prevention for brake rotors and create FE models for brake rotor component level noise performance. Assess the level of rotor noise, calculate the natural frequencies for brake rotor in different directions, including axial, tangential and radial, separate those different frequencies, eliminate the resonance at a rotor level analysis, and analyze the entire brake corner for noise.
Additional Job Description
Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related, and one (1) year of experience as an Engineer, or related role. Must also have experience with: conducting FEA simulations of Brake Systems or components to evaluate design performance against thermal, structural, and NVH engineering targets, or related.
