Job Description
The Client Engagement Specialist will be responsible for supporting identified, high-risk clients through their journey at Akua Mind & Body. They will report directly to the Program Director and will regularly attend clinical review meetings to better understand each client’s individual case, identifying which clients need extra attention. The Client Engagement Specialist will be called upon at critical moments to help clients through difficulties that arise while in treatment. This includes working with clients to stay in treatment where clinically indicated. Outside of this core responsibility, the Client Engagement Specialist will follow the Program Director’s guidance on additional ways to support the program. This includes working to create and maintain a safe, comfortable, and client-focused treatment environment, and assisting with intaking new clients.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Work directly under Program Director to create and maintain a safe, comfortable, and client-focused treatment environment
- Work with case managers and clinical team to identify high-priority clients needing additional resources.
- Meet regularly with high-priority clients to help them stay within their treatment plans
- Assist in intaking new clients in an efficient and comforting manner
- Maintain strict client confidentiality/HIPAA compliance
- Ensuring 100% client satisfaction with care
- Complete client charting on electronic healthcare software (KIPU)
- Adherence to facility policy and procedures, State & Federal law, and Joint Commission accreditation regulations and standards
Qualification and Skills (same as for clinical tech)
- Experience working with Drug Medi-Cal population clients (required)
- Experience working in residential substance use disorder program (preferred)
- RADT (Required)
- Current CPR/First Aid Certification (Required)
- Valid CA Driver's License (Required)
- Current Health Screen (Required)
- TB Clearance (Required)
- Proof of COVID19 Vaccination (Required)
- Professional appearance, aptitude, and attitude
- Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries
- Impeccable ethics and integrity
- Completion of schooling for Alcohol and Drug Counseling degree (required)
- Bachelor's degree in health services field (preferred) or High School Diploma with at least 1 year of experience in a behavioral healthcare setting (required)
