Job Description
Daystar is seeking a professional System Administrator with a servant’s heart to integrate our IT team.
The Systems Administrator’s role is to manage Daystar’s computer software systems, servers, storage devices, and network connections to ensure high availability and security of the supported business applications. Participates in the planning and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure system provisioning and maintenance consistent with company goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements. Primary Responsibilities:
· Install, configure, and deploy server hardware and software (Windows Servers), including operating systems, applications, and patches to support and maintain effective network service operations.
· Supports, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains server issues and security for enterprise and large-scale applications.
· Manage, deploy, configure, and maintain servers in a virtualized (VMWare and Nutanix) and traditional environment including Exchange Servers.
· Manage windows clustering, domain controller setup (including DHCP and DNS) and group policy.
· Assist with the maintenance and troubleshooting of complex network and server issues.
· Manage Storage, Backup and Disaster Recovery configurations with Storone and VEEAM.
· Manage the Security Camera System, including installing desktop software, physical camera installations, server configuration and troubleshooting issues.
· Ensure the security of server infrastructure by implementing industry best practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.
· Develop and maintain documentation about current environment setup, standard operating procedures, and best practices.
· Manage end-user accounts, permissions, access rights, and storage allocations following best practices.
· Manage Active Directory Users and Computers.
· Document equipment, networks, and maintenance, including warranties, repairs, and user requests.
· Assist in selecting new equipment and software.
· Build and set up computer networks by physically installing, connecting, and configuring equipment.
· Communicate with vendors to get quotes for new system purchases and repairs.
· Participate in an on-call rotation and fundraiser events throughout the year.
· Create, update, and troubleshoot accounts, passwords, and security policies.
· Manage computers and servers in Azure environment.
· Respond to service incidents within the times specified in any Service Level Agreement (SLA).
· Provide support to Help Desk Team and end users as needed.
· Manage IT Projects as assigned.
· Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications:
· Minimum experience: 5 years as a Systems Administrator or Systems Engineer.
· Bachelor's degree in related field preferred by not required.
· Recently graduated or certifications earned.
· Microsoft certifications preferred.
· Must have proven experience with Azure environment.
· Must be experienced with Windows networking, advanced desktop support, and have significant work experience or certifications.
· Must have deep knowledge of Office 365 and Azure Environment.
· Ability to communicate in an effective and efficient manner with peers, users and vendors.
