Position Summary
Join our team at Ogden-Weber Technical College (OWTC) as an Electrical Program Instructor and be part of shaping the future of electrical professionals!
As the Electrical Program Instructor, you will have the exciting opportunity to guide and mentor students through our Electrical Trades Prep and Electrical Apprentice program. From residential to commercial and industrial electrical systems, you will share your expertise through both theoretical teachings and hands-on training.
Under the supportive direction of our Program Coordinator, you will collaborate with fellow faculty members to ensure our students thrive. Your role will involve not only preparing students for the electrical apprenticeship program but also helping them achieve their journeyman's license.
Beyond the classroom, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining student records and verifying competency. With the assistance of the Program Coordinator, you will continuously enhance our curriculum and activities to ensure our programs remain top-notch.

Essential Functions
- Provide students with technical instruction in a safe, clean, and productive learning environment; maintain student records to include verification of attendance and completion of competencies.
- Meet programmatic and accrediting body goals for student completion, placement, and licensure.
- Advise students in the areas of program and college expectations, appropriate work behavior, and dress standards. Assist counselors, administration, and other staff as necessary to resolve issues affecting student success.
- Assist the program coordinator with maintaining program assets.
- Work closely with the program coordinator to improve curriculum and instructional methodologies to increase student success.
- Complete assignments within established timelines.
- Attend programmatic team meetings.
- Work cooperatively with the college community and with all college stakeholders. Represent the college community in a professional manner.?
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Must possess a current Utah Journeyman or Master Electrician License.
- Minimum of six years of related work experience.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications as well as other computer software applications.
Education and Experience Preferred:
- Preference will be given to those individuals that have teaching and curriculum development experience.
- Spanish-speaking proficiency desirable.
Physical Requirements:
- Work requires physical exertion. Will require the ability to stand; walk over rough surfaces; bend, crouch, stoop, stretch, reach, lift moderately heavy items (up to 50 lbs.) in a recurring manner and/or for extended periods of time.
- Risks which require the use of special safety precautions and/or equipment, e.g., working around operating machines, etc.
Additional Information
Working Hours: Two evenings per week. Tuesday and Wednesday or Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
