The System Administrator I is the builder and operator of our core managed systems and platforms. This role takes the lead in securing, stabilizing, maintaining, monitoring, and automating endpoints and infrastructure across our client base. We will deliver the tools and expertise to the rest of the organization to allow them to Make IT Easy through efficient service delivery. This role is also considered a Subject Matter Expert in one or more managed services knowledge domains such as Patch Management, Endpoint Security, Windows System Monitoring, Scripting and Automation, Network Scanning and Discovery, and Backup Operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Deploy, administer, and improve monitoring platforms for systems and networks
- Construct, administer, and maintain patch management systems
- Deploy, administer, and integrate security services platforms
- Source, build, and maintain automation scripts and tools for the organization
- Proactively remediate system or network health alerts and event notifications
- Document system provisioning and configuration standards
- Respond to system alerts and to service requests from other departments
Qualifications--Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
Our organization’s ability to quickly and effectively respond to impactful situations resides with this role. By efficiently processing large quantities of alert data to assess criticality and severity, we can quickly leverage our organization’s entire technical team to proactively solve problems and make IT Easy for our customers. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required to successfully perform in this position.
- Strong technical knowledge and understanding of SMB workstations and servers
- Experience with basic networking hardware setup, troubleshooting, and concepts
- Professional, Industry, and/or Vendor certifications are required e.g. Cisco CCT, CompTIA Security+, M365 Certified Modern Desktop Admin
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize tasks, and respond with sense of urgency
- Ability to concisely document issues and resolution steps; strong writing skills
- Strong problem solving abilities
- Understanding of risk and impact in implementing large scale operations
- Self-motivated and responsive to Management and customers
- Ability to work successfully and effectively within a team structure
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Experience working with time tracking/ticketing software desired
- Exceptional ability to develop productive and positive relationships
