Systems Administrator (AWS & Linux Exp. Required)

Job Description:
MicroHealth is seeking a skilled Systems Administrator to support our client and team in Vienna, VA, with experience in AWS and Linux. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and application software on system servers and personal computers associated with assigned systems. Additionally, the Systems Administrator will perform daily system backups, monitor performance, analyze capabilities, and maintain the security posture of systems.
Clearance Requirement: T3 or Active Secret Clearance Required
Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support services, including software and hardware installation, configuration, and timely troubleshooting of issues.
• Develop and maintain policies and procedures for system management in compliance with local regulations, while maintaining strong communication and professional working relationships.
• Manage and maintain the AWS infrastructure to support the contract, including EC2 instances, S3 storage, RDS databases, and other AWS services.
• Implement best practices for security, monitoring, and performance optimization within the AWS environment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system issues and outages in a timely manner to minimize impact on the contract.
• Collaborate with the development and operations teams to deploy and maintain applications on the AWS platform.
• Configure and maintain Linux servers to support the contract, including installation, patching, and troubleshooting.
• Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions for the systems.
• Monitor system performance and capacity to ensure scalability and reliability for the contract.
• Configure and maintain Active Directory, GPOs, IIS, SQL Server 2019, and WSUS.
• Execute vulnerability scans, assess results, and remediate vulnerabilities for system compliance.
• Troubleshoot access problems and implement network security policies.
• Monitor patch management to ensure network equipment and operating systems are protected against vulnerabilities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator, with a focus on AWS and Linux environments.
• Knowledge of system security and data backup/recovery best practices.
• AWS certification (e.g., AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of Linux operating systems, including CentOS, Ubuntu, or Red Hat.
• Knowledge of system security and data backup/recovery best practices.
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
• Knowledge of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
