Job description

ATCS is GROWING! We are looking for a Jr. System Administrator to join our IT team. This position is based at the ATCS headquarters in Herndon, VA office and provides technical support to all 11 ATCS's locations. This includes end-users, network, server and application support / administration - both on cloud and on-premises. This is a hybrid role with three days per week required onsite in our Herndon headquarters.
This position requires strong communication skills and an ongoing desire to acquire new skills to ensure technical competency to assist with mid-level technical questions such as local system setup, local network issues, or compliance with data and interoperability standards, as well as applying technical solutions to issues that have established resolution methods.
The ideal candidate will be part of a team to provide primary technology support for all user related workplace technology including all production applications, computer workstations, VOIP, printers, peripherals, and teleconferencing equipment. Applicant must be familiar with VPN, AntiVirus, Cloud Computing, Network monitoring, VOIP telephony and have hands-on experience with Microsoft Office 365, AWS, SharePoint, and Adobe Suites.
Responsibilities and Duties are as follows, but not limited to:
  • Provide prompt and courteous customer service.
  • Cooperate and support colleagues and interact with other support groups.
  • Perform remote diagnostics and troubleshoot client workstations and mobile devices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve incidents and problems.
  • Provide the day-to-day system administration to include system and resource optimization, and user assistance.
  • Provide technical assistance and training to end users, responds to users' requests for assistance by phone, in person, and online.
  • Perform support for onsite personnel as well as remote support using remote control tools.
  • Assist in providing onboarding and offboarding of the staff when needed.
  • Hardware and Software troubleshooting.
  • Provide end-user orientation on hardware, software and network operations when needed.
  • Follow the instructions to monitor the infrastructure for possible issues and takes necessary action to prevent an outage.
  • Maintains strong customer service skills when dealing with users, vendors and other partners.
  • Maintain IT equipment and supply inventories to ensure critical parts and supplies are in place to maintain systems with limited downtime.
  • Actively contributes to ongoing process improvements.
  • Administer, update, and troubleshoot corporate VOIP telephony & backup system.
  • Travel to all ATCS offices as needed.
  • Perform other duties or special projects, as required, in support of the departments' goals.
  • Willingness to research, learn and implement new technologies.
  • Assist in the administration and lifecycle management of the IT infrastructure of approximately 300 PCs including rights management, as well as, server, M365, and telephony administration.

Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology or related field preferred.
  • Professional industry standard certifications such as Security +, MCSE is a plus.
  • Experience working with Office 365, Exchange online, MS Teams.
  • Experience supporting Active Directory and Group Policy
  • Familiarity with MDM (Mobile Device Management) solutions
  • Experience in supporting AWS and /or Azure cloud infrastructure is a plus.
  • Knowledge of PowerShell scripting
  • Strong infrastructure service delivery support including LAN / WAN.
  • Knowledge of networking protocols and supporting Cisco Meraki is a plus.
  • Familiarity with engineering applications such as AutoDesk, MicroStation and GIS is a plus.
  • Experience with ticketing system and Inventory management
  • Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent time management, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Paying attention to details, taking ownership, and being organized
  • Proven ability to multitask effectively and handle fluctuating workload.
  • Proficient at troubleshooting problems with common office equipment.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends when need it.
