Systems Administrator

The System Administrator is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and monitoring of servers, storage systems, and network devices. The System Administrator has strong technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills.

System Administrator duties include but are not limited to:

• Install, configure, and maintain servers, storage systems and network devices
• Maintain and monitor system backups and disaster recovery plans
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software and network issues
• Ensure system security by implementing and maintaining access controls, firewalls, and other security measures
• Monitor system performance and take necessary actions to ensure high availability and optimal performance
• Develop and maintain documentation related to system configurations, procedures and policies

Requirements for Systems Administrators:

• Understanding of basic systems structures and how to maintain
• Knowledge of Active Directory and GPO
• Knowledge of good security basics
• Experience with server operating systems such as Windows Server and Linux
• Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware and Hyper- V
• Familiarity with network protocols and topologies, firewalls and network security
• Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery procedures
• Professional verbal and written communication skills
