Position Summary
Perform a broad range of responsible and complex computer systems administration duties in the implementation and maintenance of management information systems; perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed;perform regular file archival and purge; provide technical support for a combination of server, network, and desktop hardware, software and peripheral equipment; upgrade existing hardware and software, to correct reported hardware and/or software problems; develop and/or customize multi-user, server-based application software systems; and perform a variety of technical tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility.

Minimum Education, Experience And Additional Requirements
Education and experience directly related to the minimum requirements below may be interchangeable on a year for year basis.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in information systems or computer science; and
Two (2) years of experience in any combination of the following areas:
- Server administration
- Vendor software analysis and installation
- Troubleshooting and repair of servers, PCs, associated equipment and software
Possesion of avalid New Mexico Drivers License, or ability to obtain by date of hire.
Possession of a valid City Operator's Permit (COP) within six (6) months from date of hire
Possession of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certification preferred.

- Methods and techniques used in the installation, testing, troubleshooting and maintenance of PCs, servers, printers and related equipment

- Principles of business letter writing and basic report preparation
- Advanced methods and techniques used in the installation, testing, troubleshooting and maintenance of PCs, printers, servers and related equipment and software

- Methods and techniques used in maintaining information system security
- Principles of supervision, training and performance evaluation
