Job Summary
The Support Services Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating and providing Support Services to the nonprofit's educational programs and initiatives. The coordinator will work with various stakeholders, including students, educators, volunteers, and external partners, to ensure the smooth functioning of the organization's educational Support Services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage the day-to-day operations of the organization's educational Support Services, including scheduling, communication, and logistics.
- Candidate must be versed in Workforce Development (WIOA) standards and implementation.
Establish and maintain professional working relationships with WIOA program partners, WIOA participants, MB staff, and other MB program partners.
Support Workforce Development Participant students with post secondary education options: campus tours, orientations, academic counseling appointments, financial aid, scholarships. Connect with on campus resource opportunities.
Complete all required forms and other paperwork. Track and collect data on day to day work. Participate in reporting process including providing pertinent input and access to data as needed.
Creation and maintenance of student case files and personalized assessment tracks.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for students, educators, volunteers, and external partners, providing them with guidance and support as needed.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external partners to ensure effective collaboration and partnerships in support of the organization's mission.
- Work with educators and volunteers to develop and implement effective educational programs and initiatives, including curriculum development, program evaluation, and reporting.
- Assist with fundraising efforts and grant applications to secure funding for educational Support Services.
- Knowledgeable about Hempstead, the people, and its community organizations, government agencies, and businesses.
- Maintain accurate records of program activities and outcomes and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in educational Support Services.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in education, nonprofit management, or a related field preferred.
- At least 2-3 years of experience working in education or nonprofit management, with a focus on program coordination and Support Services.
- Proficient with Salesforce preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Experience with program evaluation and reporting, including the use of data to inform decision-making and program improvements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite, and experience working with databases and online collaboration tools.
- Passion for education and a commitment to supporting educational equity and access for all students.
This is a full-time position that may require some evening and weekend work. The Support Services Coordinator will report to the Managing Director of Programs and work closely with other staff members and volunteers to achieve the organization's goals and objectives.
