Position Overview:

 

Novelis – Guthrie, KY is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Planning Analyst for our new facility in Guthrie, KY. The Supply Chain Planning Analyst is responsible for the integration, monitoring, and deployment of all planning activities for Guthrie’s Recycling Center.  The Supply Chain Planning Analyst will set and plan process parameters and troubleshoot issues associated with short- and long-term planning. This position also has the responsibility for managing customer orders, SAP planned orders, and production center schedules.  They ensure that all are in line with the overall capacity plan for the machine centers. The Supply Chain Planning Analyst works closely with S&OP planners, production center planners and schedulers, tolling planners, demand managers and commercial team to formulate the plan, monitor execution and resolve issues. The incumbent must be cross trained across all Guthrie planning, scheduling, and logistics functions.


Responsibilities:

  • Track demand changes reported by the downstream production planners, schedulers, and tolling planners. Investigate and validate the changes; Resolve, document and escalate issues as appropriate.
  • Manage product route changes to react to unplanned outages or anticipated capacity constraints. Determine products involved. Initiate and track the associated MDM (Master Data Management) requests.
  • Report and troubleshoot SAP alerts (surplus, late, early, etc.) to identify system issues and work with production center planners and schedulers to take appropriate action.
  • Initiate MDM requests to correct process / order planning parameters (lot size, lead time, etc.)
  • Lead development of report analyzing lead time by product to ensure order alignment with manufacturing lead time.
  • Translate ingot demand requirements into an efficient Remelt casting schedule.
  • Partner with plant process/quality engineers to assure accuracy of master data parameters (e.g. equipment run rates, yields, etc.) for each product specifications.
  • Analyze “production of an ingot” and other SAP parameters to ensure its accuracy.
  • Responsible for submission of capacity assumptions related to tons per hour, recovery, utilization, and downtime to NNA S&OP process.
  • Administer and track weekly purchase orders to ensure appropriate delivery timelines and call out any potential risk of supply shortfalls.
  • Review capacity assumptions and published S&OP plans with plant leadership and operations on a monthly basis to gain alignment as well as document issues and concerns.
  • Work with maintenance teams (EMRA) to schedule outages that best fit with Novelis sales, inventory, and capacity plans (S&OP).
  • Create and update reports including the monthly plant performance report and other ad hoc analyses to meet the needs of Supply Chain and plant management.
  • Master process based-level knowledge of all areas within the manufacturing process including material procurement, ingot casting, hot rolling, master planning, and S&OP activities.
  • Perform weekend or off-hour support or reporting as required.
  • Involve others in problem solving/decision making, actively seeks out creative win-win solutions, and has a positive influence on co-workers.
  • Support projects or rapid improvement events as required.
  • Develop a culture where planning becomes predictive rather than reactive.
  • Partner with source plants, where needed, to monitor and manage end-to-end metal flow upstream, throughout, and downstream of Guthrie.
  • Possess a local expertise on the interaction and flow of Supply Chain related information between SAP, MES, scheduling system, and Level 2/3 systems. Resolves transactional errors to ensure system accuracy.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and exposure to Supply Chain management through experience and/or course work.
  • 2 years of analytical experience required.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) skills; ability to communicate with all levels in the organization
  • Desire to take initiative and develop a pro-active relationship with customers (internal & external) through follow-up, understanding their needs and fostering a collaborative relationship.
  • Must be flexible and able to operate in a fast-paced environment.
  • Intermediate or higher Excel Skills:
    • Ability to manipulate, cleanse and analyze large amounts of data in Excel.
    • Ability to analyze the data in Excel and draw conclusions and recommendation.
  • Solid computer skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.  Ability to learn new software programs quickly.
  • Ability to utilize data modeling programs such as Power BI preferred.
  • Must also possess leadership skills to direct, lead and develop other personnel to accomplish personal, plant and corporate objectives.
