Covia, located in Independence, OH, has an immediate opening for a Logistics Fleet Analyst.  This individual will maintain relationships with railcar leasing vendors, railroads and repair shops.  Oversee contract management activities for railcar lease origination or renewals.  Provide hands on support, analysis, and cost-effective solutions for comprehensive fleet operations.

 

The successful incumbent will have the following Key Accountabilities:

  • Be a key contributor in Railcar leasing negotiations.
  • Maintain fleet sizing models based on latest sales forecasts.
  • Contract management for railcar leases.
  • Build relationships across the industry for market intelligence.
  • Ability to communicate verbally & electronically with vendors and legal counsel.
  • Maintain fleet database.
  • Ensure that fleet KPI’s are meaningful and updated in a timely fashion.
  • Work with teammates on proper fleet sizing for individual facilities.
  • Proactively manage fleet maintenance costs and repair shop relationships.
  • Approve invoices for all railcar related costs.
  • Strong sense of urgency and passion to provide outstanding customer service.
  • Work with Railroad partners as need to help with car movements and arrange for railcar storage as required.

 

The successful incumbent will have the following Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of experience in a rail centric organization.
  • Bachelor degree required, focus in Logistics or Supply Chain preferred.
  • Familiarity with reviewing & editing contracts, communicate effectively with legal counsel.
  • Capability to build dashboards in MS PowerBI.
  • Experience developing and maintaining KPI’s for a Logistics organization.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with a positive attitude with ability to handle multiple functions at one time in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, highly proficient in MS Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work overtime and flexible work hours as required to complete daily assignments.
  • Travel requirement 20-25%
