Summer 2024 Undergraduate Intern - Facilities Management
During Summer 2024, NYP will be offering four 12-week paid internship opportunities for qualified undergraduate students from SUNY Maritime engineering programs.
Incoming interns will work with Facilities Management engineering leadership and experienced plant supervisor professionals. Across our state-of-the-art facilities, you'll use technical skills to diagnose operational issues, document flow diagrams and develop maintenance programs in accordance with a variety of regulatory codes and procedures. You will support the management of NYP's critical systems we maintain and operate for the safety of our patients. This includes projects working with boilers, chillers, and other large systems at one of these four NYP campuses: Weill Cornell Medical Center, Columbia University Irving Medical Center, Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, and Queens.
These exciting internship opportunities will take place from June 3 - August 26, 2024 on site in New York, NY. These positions are fully in-person. Students can also earn academic credit for this internship; and can choose to shorten this program to 8 or 10 weeks rather than 12.
Internship Program Components

• Conduct a presentation during the last week
• Weekly Check-ins
• Participate in small group career information meetings
• Professional development opportunities

Preferred Criteria:

• Currently enrolled in an engineering program at SUNY Maritime
• Class of 12/2024 or 05/2025

Required Criteria:

• Enrollment in a Bachelor program
• Standing, walking, sitting, push/pull/lift 10+ lbs, reaching, talking, hearing, color vision, manual dexterity/mobility, exposure to weather, extreme hot/cold, dust/vapors, fumes.

Timeline:

• Applications must be submitted by Monday, December 11
• Talent Acquisition will review applications and follow up with selected candidates for recorded interviews in December
• Virtual Interviews with hiring managers will take place in January
• Selected candidates to be notified by February 2
