Job description

Reporting to the Chief Facilities Officer and indirectly to the Director of Security, theFacilities Operations Manager is responsible for managing facilities staff and related activities on the night and weekend shifts. Responsibilities include assigning maintenance task as needed, coordinating scheduled setup/breakdowns per work order request as well as providing overall facilities support to all departments at all Whitney sites/locations as needed.
Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the day shift Manager and nightshift Supervisors on scheduling personal time-off
  • Document performance successes and improvement needs
  • Provide management oversight on special event activities including load-ins, load-outs, and post-construction gallery floor cleaning
  • Provide onsite Management supporting and oversight over Security and Safety at the Museum on nights and weekends

Requirements:
  • B.A., B.S. degree or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in facilities operation management or related field, experience in Security and Safety management a plus
  • Flexible schedule (nights and weekends) to be determined
  • Custodial work experience, floor maintenance experience preferred
  • Understanding of how to use tools/equipment, computer and office equipment preferred
  • Knowledge of facilities maintenance, cleaning supplies, operating floor buffer machine
  • Ability to lift heavy objects up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions such as snow and rain
