Job Description
- Manages commercial stone projects through pricing, ordering, submittal, delivery, and phases.
- Provide a thorough review of shop drawings for submittal to the client and cut tickets for fabrication.
- Verify material range approval process with client and supplier.
- Manages the process of importing stone projects from international vendors including China, Italy, Turkey, Spain, Portugal, and others.
- Utilizes special order stone system to price projects. Travels throughout assigned regions to call on regular and prospective customers including Architects, Designers, Developers, General Contractors, and Fabricators.
- Reads blueprints, cut sheets and prepares take-offs when required.
- Provide stone technical assistance to internal and external customers
- Works with National Account personnel, Arch. Reps SSC Managers and Sales Reps to assist in large stone projects.
- Develops monthly strategy for sales calls and prepares monthly travel calendar based on that strategy.
- Conducts area market analysis of top accounts in each area including Developers, General Contractors, and Installers.
- Researches are market product data to determine the types, styles, and sizes most commonly purchased in the area to determine sales strategy.
- Grows market share by increasing sales and sales volume while maintaining company-approved product margin goals.
- Utilizes influence and negotiation skills to sell and/or place displays in customer’s showrooms.
- Conducts client follow-ups via phone calls, letters, and/or emails.
- Establishes and maintains client files and performs timely follow-up on programs and projects.
- Provide PK seminars to customers.
- Utilizes “On Demand” reporting to achieve sales objectives.
- A bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Construction Management, or Civil Engineering is preferable.
- A clean driving record is required.
- 5+ years of experience Drafting, Estimating, Project Management, or Stone Sales.
- 5 + years of experience reading architectural drawings.
- Comfortable working with AutoCAD, Excel, & PowerPoint.
- Previous experience in the wood or glass industry is acceptable.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task while prioritizing and executing various-size projects.
- Strong organizational skills are a must.
- Strong customer service and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Working knowledge of fabrication process and installation techniques.
- Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of project goals.
- Proven interpersonal skills with experience negotiating prices & schedules.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Must exercise independent judgment.
