At Delta Dental of New Jersey, we rely on our interns to bring their insight and curiosity to broaden our perspective. We’re pleased to share that our Summer 2024 Intern program will begin on Monday, June 3rd and run through Friday, August 2nd. Our program is full time, Monday through Friday from 8 until 4:30, and we’ve got a great Wednesday +1 hybrid model allowing for collaboration and the flexibility of remote work too. We’re not looking for latte fetchers – these are meaty, dig deep to learn and solve real business problems alongside our talented, engaged professionals who want to share their knowledge, experience and networks.
In addition to focusing on your area of interest, our interns meet weekly to learn more about our business and our leaders. You’ll interface with our officers, have lunch with our CEO, and even volunteer at one of our foundation grantees facilities.

What You’ll Be Doing.
In the Program Management Office, we’re working on transformational initiatives such as our ever evolving digital technologies or the upcoming implementation of a new customer contact center. Our intern can expect to be thrown into a fast paced world of agile software delivery whereby you’ll learn how to merge technical innovations into solutions that fit the ever changing needs of our business.
What You’ll Be Learning.
- Shadow Product Owners and Program Managers to understand the day to day functions and responsibilities of each role.
- Partner with the AVP & Director of the PMO to understand the big picture of how to build and manage a portfolio of workstreams that align to the overall Corporate Strategy.
- Learn how the many processes and activities surrounding the delivery of a new solution or product works get an upfront look at how an agile software development lifecycle methodology is used in the real world.
- How to organize project artifacts in accordance with a standardized delivery process to execute according to a plan.
- The opportunity to innovate or automate solutions surrounding the management of a product backlog including dashboard and executive reporting.
- Facilitate the formal ceremonies surrounding a an agile software development team.
- Collaborate with technology, business partners, Executives and other departments throughout DDNJ/CT.
