Job Summary and Qualifications
The Staffing & Scheduling Solutions Manager is responsible for providing business owner guidance to ITG partners for development and functionality of Staffing and Scheduling solutions that support labor management and implementation of best practices. The Manager acts as a Liaison to other company work groups to help ensure best practices and solutions are prioritized and adopted to support clinical operations and optimal outcomes. This position partners with ITG, CSG, CT&I, Division, PI, hospital leadership and finance to achieve best practices in maintaining standardization and adherence to company guidance for scheduling/staffing best practices across all hospitals. The Manager establishes a culture of service excellence and partnership with internal and external customers.
General Responsibilities
- Establishes relationships and is viewed as an advisor to hospital leadership and Division Performance Improvement resources regarding workforce management.
- Collaborates with hospital leadership and division Performance Improvement resources in the establishment of standard configurations and process efficiencies to ensure the Facility Scheduler Application is maintained in accordance with division and company guidelines, and assists these resources in the monitoring of key indicators associated with Staffing and Scheduling.
- Provides oversight in the research of issues and responses back for solution development, under the direction of the AVP.
- Is the knowledge source for systems used in the organization such as Facility Scheduler, Kronos Alerts, FS Dashboard, and ISAS.
- Assists the AVP to develop strategies for facility configuration needs associated with enhancements related to the Facility Scheduler application.
- Serves as an advisor to hospital and division management teams on the use of process improvement tools and techniques for workforce management.
- Monitors and communicates Staffing and Scheduling related issues to the appropriate teams for troubleshooting, enhancement opportunities and business prioritization.
- Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) and hospital policy to decisions that may impact configuration requirements in the Facility Scheduler application.
- Independent decision maker regarding the development of Staffing and Scheduling solutions and best practices.
- Is the knowledge source for systems used in the organization such as Facility Scheduler, including FS Dashboard and MyScheduler, ISAS, WF 2.0, Inspire and new applications as developed.
- Strong Communication skills as demonstrated by proactive communications with key customers and the ability to establish realistic expectations and communicate difficult decisions/information
- Develops expertise, credibility and trust among internal customers
- Responsible for completing tasks in a fast paced environment
- Escalates issues to the AVP as necessary
- Builds and maintains strong, effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders
- Practices and adheres to the "Code of Conduct" philosophy and "Mission and Value Statement"
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Leadership experience in the health care industry with emphasis on workforce management
- Experience with hospital Staffing and Scheduling preferred and associated applications
- Previous experience must be applicable to applying organizational methodology in order to develop and deliver forecasts that support productivity and financial efficiency
- Experience in Collective Bargaining environments a plus.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power BI applications.
- Ability to readily master new software and related enhancements
- Basic computer hardware; printer, key board, copy/scanning equipment, telecommunication devices
- Some travel required
Education and Experience
- Bachelors degree preferred
- At least 1 year of management experience
- 5 or more years of relevant work experience
