Summary
The position will assume the responsibilities to assist the Director of Engineering with all technical design reviews, calculations, and other activities related to the successful completion of a project design and production.
Duties and Responsibilities
Estimating
· Review and analyze the contents of a typical bid package, including all specifications, drawings, addenda and special instructions to the bidders.
· Complete preliminary system design Bill of Materials including quantities of materials, labor requirements and unit costs.
Engineering and Design
· Participate in design kick-off meetings with all key project personnel.
· Participate in design review meetings with all key project personnel.
· Generate and/or review design 3D models, drawings and calculations.
· Perform and analyze flow calculations (water, foam, FM200, Novec 1230, CO2, etc.).
· Perform and analyze voltage drop and battery sizing calculations.
· Perform and analyze structural steel calculations.
· Perform other design calculations (as required).
· Produces and/or supports the development of all types of Fire and Safety discipline deliverables on a project, including P&IDs; specifications, datasheets, requisitions, equipment location plans, Fire Proofing Limit Plans and F&G Detection Location Plans
General
· Assist the Director of Engineering with technical oversight of all fabrication and assembly operations.
· Comply with all aspects of the DTI Health and Safety Program as it applies to position.
· Comply with all aspects of the DTI ISO 9001 Quality Management System as it applies to position.
· Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an EAC/ABET-accredited baccalaureate engineering program.
· Engineer-in-Training (EIT) designation (after successful completion of the FE exam).
· Professional Engineer (PE) designation preferred (after successful completion of the P&P exam).
· Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and Outlook).
· Excellent working knowledge of CAD (2D and 3D) software (Autodesk Inventor, Plant 3D).
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Excellent mechanical and electrical aptitude.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
