Description & Details:
The Upper Great Plains Transportation Institute (UGPTI) at NDSU is seeking candidates for a Traffic Safety Psychology Analyst position. The primary objectives of this position are: (1) Behavioral psychology contribution to Traffic Safety program assessments; (2) Develop problem statements and research project proposals aimed at contributing to safety culture monitoring and effective safety behavior promotion on public roadways (3) Collect, analyze, and interpret data, ensure quality control, and compile research findings in an organized, orderly format; and (4) Work independently and collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams to effectively communicate ideas, opinions, and solutions related to current and future project activities.

$46,800 +/DOE
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in psychology
  • Strong background in behavioral psychology
  • Experience with mixing quantitative and qualitative research methods
  • Applied statistical skills to analyze psychological-related tests/metrics in SPSS or SAS and present empirical findings
  • Demonstrated research writing and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Experience managing workload priorities among multiple projects

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in research proposal development
  • Experience working with Traffic Safety stakeholders
  • Experience working with NA/AN cultures and communities
  • Experience with behavioral psychology theory and applications in public health promotion and cultural change
  • Experience reviewing and interpreting medical files related to traffic injuries, eg. traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries
  • 2+ years of related experience
