We are seeking a Part-Time Funeral Staff Associate to join our team at Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home in Oakland, CA where we offer a friendly and supportive work environment. Our Funeral Services Associates are responsible for assisting our directors with events, helping to maintain the facility appearance, and providing information in a compassionate and professional manner to our client families. Your work is the foundation of our ability to supply a source of support, guidance, and direction to client families before, during, and after the loss of a loved one.
- Establish and maintain strong business relationship with families
- Assist funeral directors with events held on site, including services and arrangement conferences
- Set up chapels for services, including the transportation of floral arrangements
- Help maintain the facilities – cleaning chapels after services, not including preparation areas
- Answer customer inquiries in a professional manner, either by phone or in person
- Assist with removals as needed
- 1 year of experience in customer service preferred
- Experience handling difficult situations
- Funeral profession experience preferred
- Excellent communication skills
- Maintaining a team player mindset
- Comfortable using various computer applications and equipment
- Experience handling sensitive situations in a professional manner
