Director, Data

Position Summary

The Director, Data will be a key strategic leader responsible for overseeing and optimizing our data-driven initiatives making crucial technology decisions to enhance our data infrastructure capabilities. The incumbent will drive actionable insights and fuel organizational growth. The Director, Data provides guidance and leadership in shaping the organization's long-term goals and objectives, including developing and executing plans that align with the company's mission, vision, and values, while ensuring that resources are utilized effectively and efficiently.

Essential Function and Responsibilities:

• Develops and executes the data strategy, ensuring alignment with overall business goals and objectives.
  
• Oversees the design, development, and maintenance of scalable and efficient data models and data
  warehousing solution.
• Drives the implementation and enhancement of ETL processes to ensure the timely and accurate ingestion of
  data from various sources.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams to identify data and analytics needs and provide valuable insights to
  support decision-making.
• Establishes and enforces data governance policies and best practices to ensure data integrity, security, and
  compliance.
• Monitors data performance metrics and conducts regular assessments to identify opportunities for
  improvement and optimization.
• Stays abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data management and analytics
  to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
• Identifies, develops, and implements improvements in processes or policies and ensures adoption within the
  function and organization.
• Develops and manages the functional budget and ensures resources and assets are managed within the
  approved budget.
• Collaborates in hiring activities including candidate selection, participation in panel and individual interviews,
  and making hiring decisions.
• Supports collaborators in all aspect of training and development including performance, behaviors,
• competencies, and alignment.
• Participates in the successful implementation of functional projects as they arise.

Qualificationsand Education Requirements:

• Bachelor's in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field from an accredited institution is required, a or
  Master's degree is preferred.
• Demonstrated a minimum of 10 years of experience in data management, data engineering, or a related field
  is required.
• Demonstrated a minimum of five years in a leadership or managerial role is required.
• Demonstrated a minimum of five years of experience with Data Modeling, Data Warehousing, ETL processes,
  and cloud-based technologies, particularly AWS and Snowflake, is required.
• Demonstrated experience in various data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Sigma, Domo, or similar
  is required.
• Demonstrated experience in effectively leading and developing high-performing data and analytics teams is
  required.
• Demonstrated experience conveying complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders is required

The College requires all new Collaborators to attend new employee (collaborator) orientation (NCO) for one week in Salt Lake City, Utah. Travel, food, and lodging accommodations will be paid for by the organization.
