Position Purpose:
Coordinate and maintain all day-to-day accounting functions/cycles to produce timely and accurate financial information for all entities.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, research and resolve outstanding balances
- Participate in GL closing including preparation and input of journal entries and the preparation of month-end schedules and reports
- Record monthly cost and sales entries for home closings
- Process sales commissions and draw payments
- Review financing documents, including HUD, to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Coordinate the processing of property tax statements from the county appraisal district
- Prepare comparison schedules for review to identify changes in tax assessments and estimate tax liabilities
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budgets
- Assist in the processing of tax filings
- Prepare needed work papers for audits as directed by outside auditing firms or managers
- Bring notices to appropriate managers to ensure appropriate action by designated deadlines
- Assist with accounts payable as needed
- Various assignments and projects as assigned
Qualifications:
- BBA or higher from an accredited university
- High level of mastery with Microsoft Excel
- Willingness to adjust and conform to varying schedules
- Strong time management skills; very detail oriented and organized
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and its application
- Able to multi-task and properly prioritize work
- Exemplary record of attendance and punctuality
- Readily adaptable to change in a fast paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with JDE software
