Accounts Receivable (Ar) Staff Accountant

QSSI, founded in 1985, is looking for an Accounts Receivable (AR) Staff Accountant to join the team! The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented and can compile, analyze, and audit accounting, budgetary, and fiscal data. We manufacture custom lighting, die-cast parts, and components in multiple locations. We are looking for someone who can work in a fast-paced environment while keeping accuracy and quality high. The Accounting Department handles multiple entities within the QSSI umbrella, most in the USA and has three overseas.

Please note: This position is an on-site location in the Westchase Area, on the second floor of an office building with 24 stairs (no elevator) to enter and exit the office.

General Duties & Responsibilities:

• Maintain Accounts Receivable records to ensure aging is up to date, credits and collections are applied, uncollectible amounts are accounted for, and miscellaneous differences are cleared

• Perform daily cash management duties, including the recording of bank deposits, updating and distribution of cash receipt logs, and posting of cash to the Accounts Receivable sub-ledger

• Monitor and collect Accounts Receivable by contacting clients via telephone, email, and mail

• Prepare analytical and ratio analysis in relation to A/R for management to gain a better understanding of how collection efforts are progressing

• Support other accounting team members, inventory management, and cost accounting.

• Participate in various department-wide initiatives

• Review, research, and resolve issues as appropriate

• Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

• Minimum three (3) years of prior accounting experience, with Accounts Receivable focus, in a medium-sized company. Note: An equivalent combination of education, training, and expertise would reasonably be expected to provide the job-related competencies

• Experience with Sage 100 Accounting System preferred experience with Sage 50, Great Plains, Peachtree, or other Accounting Software

• Knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Excel and other related Microsoft Office products

• Ability to communicate in a clear and concise fashion

• Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment

• Desire to learn, adapt, and improve processes in a fast-changing environment

• Knowledge of U.S. GAAP accounting practices and principles

Fulltime, Non-Exempt role with pay range of $22.00/hour - $28.00/hour depending on experience.
