Staff Accountant

System1 is seeking a self-motivated dynamic individual to serve as the Staff Accountant.  In this role you will be responsible for preparation of journal entries and related supporting documentation. In addition, you will work on accounting and consolidation reports.  You should have a strong background in working for technology companies and all aspects of accounting for this type of business. You will ensure the timeliness of monthly, quarterly and year-end closes and consolidations as well as other primary accounting duties.

 

As part of our accounting team, this position will play a critical role in System1's operations department.  You will be working alongside our exceptional accounting team.

This is a Hybrid role with in office requirements in our Marina Del Ray office near Los Angeles, CA.

The Role You Will Have:

• Conduct mid-level general-ledger account reconciliations, verify accuracy of data, and identify and correct errors made by internal and external personnel.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closes, including assigned journal entries, balance-sheet account reconciliations, accruals, and overall maintenance of operational management accounts.
• Respond to information requests and assist with internal and external audits.
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
• Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures.
• Meet processing and reporting deadlines.
• Assist the Senior Accountant and overall accounting team as needed.

What You Will Bring:

• Proficient in MS Excel, including XLOOKUPS and pivot tables.
• Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
• BS Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance
• At least two years of related experience 
• Proficiency with Oracle, JIRA, and/or ADP is a plus
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or CPA candidate preferred

The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $ 82,000 - $123,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
