About New York Junior Tennis & Learning:
The New York Junior Tennis and Learning (NYJTL) is one of the largest after school tennis and education-themed community organization in the United States and offers comprehensive school and community-based programs throughout New York City’s five boroughs serving more than 100,000 youth from ages 5-18. The NYJTL afterschool program provides children with safe and nurturing environments in which they can learn and thrive academically, while receiving critical support to reach their potential, both on and off the tennis court. The NYJTL afterschool program operates in elementary, middle and high schools located in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan and Queens. NYJTL is seeking bright, dedicated individuals who have a strong interest in working with after-school programs.
Position Summary:
NYJTL seeks a Staff Accountant to assist with the day-to-day transactional tasks of its broader finance team. The responsibilities include recording cash receipts, running reports from the g/l, exporting and formatting data, analysis, and purchasing supplies. The Staff Accountant will report to the Finance and Operations Manager and will be located at our headquarters in Long Island City, Queens.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Enter cash receipts and accounts receivable in MIP, the general ledger, maintain customer documentation
- Process accounts payable invoices; enter in MIP; maintain vendor documentation
- Order supplies as directed by program teams
- Maintain physical inventory (office supplies, equipment)
- Generate reports from MIP; export and format data
- Edit policy and procedure documents
- Support periodic audits by retrieving and collating requested files/paperwork
- Provide analytical and administrative support to the finance team, as needed
Qualities/Qualification Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- 3+ years’ work experience; bookkeeping background a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Strong organization and communication skills; attention to detail and numbers
- Team player with the desire to work collaboratively with others

Salary Range
$58,500 - $63,500
