SalaryA diversified company specializing logistics, trucking, manufacturing, sales, and real-estate in Cohoes, NY is looking for a Staff Accountant to join their team! Open to entry-level candidates to gain relevant experience, or for more experienced Accountants to grow further in their field!
What you need to know:
- Salary: $52,000 - $58,000 (Experience Dependent)
- Schedule: Monday - Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- Expected 45 hour work weeks to start!

- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting / Finance required
- 2 or more year of experience working in an Accounting role
- Preferring experience in credit card processing
- Proficiency in QuickBooks required
- Advanced Excel Skills Required (Pivot Tables, Macros, Formulas, V-Look Ups, etc)
- Being responsible for maintaining and reconciling the general ledger to ensure the integrity of company accounting data.
- Reviewing junior accounting staff work products, and the oversight of day to day accounting activities.
- Gathering, manipulating and analyzing data in order to communicate insights and influence outcomes.
- Preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations and verifies all reconciliations are completed for End Of Month Financial Book by appropriate staff.
- Compiling balance sheet reconciliations by Company in Month end close book.
- Overseeing Credit Card Charges, Posting and Monthly Reconciliation.
- Preparing monthly/quarterly/annual sales and use tax filings and associated ledger entries.
- Providing day to day guidance, support and feedback to AR and AP teams.
- Assisting Controller and Accounting Manager with day to day accounting oversight.
- Leading evaluation and implementation of accounting policies and procedures to staff.
- Taking lead role in mentorship, development and training of less experienced staff.
