AddressThe Senior Test Engineer is a member of the Software Development department and is responsible for the design and implementation of testing processes for software and applications, hardware, and other quality process, ensuring that defined quality standards are met. The Senior Test Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve issues, perform automated and manual testing, and contribute to the overall improvement of Xoran’s product quality.
This position reports to the VP of Software Development. This is a full-time, exempt position located onsite in our Ann Arbor, MI location. Sponsorship is not available for this role at this time.
Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive test plans and procedures based on project requirements and specifications.
- Design and implement test strategies that align with project goals and timelines.
- Collaborate with development teams to understand system architecture and design effective testing processes.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts to enhance efficiency and test coverage.
- Work closely with software developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure a smooth testing process.
- Execute both manual and automated tests to identify system defects and ensure product functionality.
- Analyze test results and provide detailed reports on identified issues.
- Document and track software defects.
- Verify bug fixes and updates to confirm that identified issues have been addressed.
Qualifications / Requirements
- Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Experience with both manual and automated testing.
- Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in test automation (e.g., Java, Python, C#).
- Familiarity with version control systems and continuous integration tools (e.g. TFS, Azure DevOps).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5 years of proven experience as a Test Engineer or in a similar role.
- Experience with the creation and execution of test cases/scripts.
