- Develop, document and maintain testing methods per internal and external requirements (such as NIOSH, NFPA, CE and Avon standards/requirements).
- Maintain configuration of test rigs and equipment per Avon test methods.
- Conduct testing and experimentation as requested by engineering.
- Document test data and results in test reporting system.
- Plan testing activities to ensure that program timescales are met and provide regular status reports as requested by the Sr. Engineer.
- Assemble and trial prototypes of components, products and systems.
- Participate in end user research as required.
- Develop and maintain test procedures.
- Communicate test methods and results to manufacturing and external suppliers.
- Understand how regulatory requirements such as NFPA, NIOSH, CE, FCC and Intrinsic Safety impact design.
- Maintain a high standard of communication with members of other teams, functional managers, customers and suppliers to pursue project objectives.
- Understand the commercial significance of projects and to control costs, meet project timing and customer project-approval objectives.
- Operate as team member in disciplined problem-solving teams to address issues discovered during testing.
- Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Excellent technical writing skills
- Able to manage multiple engineering priorities and communicate status to appropriate stakeholders.
- Mechanically proficient and willing to perform hands on work.
- Fundamental understanding of data analysis
- Technical understanding of respiratory technology
- Technical understanding of high-pressure pneumatics
