SENIOR SCIENTIST, MOLECULAR BIOLOGY

SUMMARY:

We are actively seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team as a Senior Scientist in gene editing research. Our research team is a crucial component of Ionis' new drug discovery initiative, Ion-Edit, focused on gene editing. We work closely with other Ion-Edit groups, including medicinal chemistry, formulation, and pharmacology research, to pursue a leading-edge program on gene editing therapeutics.

The selected candidate will lead projects to advance our understanding of CRISPR technologies and generate new gene editing tools for therapeutics. The successful candidate will be an innovative and critical thinker with proven records for research excellence. It is expected that the candidate will be highly productive in a fast-paced, interactive, and innovative environment. This position offers a unique opportunity to conduct experiments in a rich drug discovery environment and produce original research for publication.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Ph.D. in Gene Editing / RNA Biology / Molecular Biology, or a related field with 0-5 post-graduate experience.
• In-depth mechanistic understanding of a biological system at molecular level is a must.
• Gene editing experience, such as guide RNA engineering, mRNA engineering, and/or Cas enzyme engineering, is highly desirable.
• Excellent in experimental design, execution, and data analysis related to genome editing and Molecular Biology techniques.
• Strong track record of scientific publications.
• High degree of ownership and accountability.
