Avon Protection Ceradyne (APC), a subsidiary of Avon Protection, is looking to fill the role of Sr. HR Generalist. Reporting to the Business Operations Manager and in support of the manufacturing Site Manager, in this important position the HR Generalist will partner with the Human Resources Manager and Director within Avon Protection to play a key role as the primary day-to-day HR point of contact for the Salem, NH site. By supporting a full suite of HR programs to help improve the employee experience and offering guidance on HR best practices, e.g., onboarding, offboarding, performance management, employee relations and engagement. This role is employee and manager-facing and the person in this role must be able to build trust-based relationships cross organizationally at all levels. The HR Generalist will facilitate a positive and engaged relationship with the APC team. He or she identifies and actively responds with sensitivity to the needs of employees and business leaders with the utmost determination and demonstration of personal integrity and professionalism. This role will support not only the ongoing strategic vision of the Avon Human Resources function, but the Company Performance Evolved vision for the future.
*Conduct all new employee orientations ensuring that all compliance requirements are met and all internal process and system requirements are met for new employees. Work with hiring managers to ensure that a formal on-boarding program is developed and executed for each new employee.
*Ensure timekeeping is correct and review bi-weekly payroll for accuracy.
*Manage annual open enrollment program working with Parent HR team to ensure completion.
*Ensure HR legal compliance, keeping up to date with latest HR trends, best practices and laws.
*Develop and execute strategy for employee training including, but not limited to new employee on-boarding, employee development and all safety, legal or compliance required training.
*Develop and maintain employment policies and procedures.
*Provide employee relations support including execution of HR investigations and compliance relating to all employee complaints or accidents.
*Foster a unified culture that inspires excellent performance and strong employee engagement in support of our core values. Contribute to employee culture by listening to employees, organizing events and being the face of HR within the plant.
*Performs other incidental and duties as required and assigned to support the plant and/or broader HR team and Company initiatives
and projects.
*Bachelors Degree or higher in Human Resources or related discipline
*Demonstrated ability to maintain the confidentiality, high ethical standard and excellent judgment required when dealing with private, personal and confidential information.
*Proactively recognize problems/opportunities and independently develop and execute rapid solution/plans while collaborating with others
*Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to lead open and effective dialogue at all levels of the organization.

*Ability to successfully multi-task between strategic and tactical responsibilities and effectively prioritize work.
*Proven ability to work independently and in a self-directed manner, collaboratively and/or under specific direction as required.

*Working knowledge/application of Microsoft Office, including Word; Excel; PowerPoint and ADP WFN
*Bilingual, Spanish.
*Must have positive and engaging style with strong emotional intelligence and exceptional communication skills.
*Experience with basic business and customer service principles, including planning & organizing, resource management, leadership skills
*Experience with HR regulations and labor law, such as, FMLA, LOA, and other state and federal employment laws.
*Ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities
*Experience supporting employee relations and strategic HR initiatives, handling complex and confidential information.
*Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
*Superb computer literacy with capability in MS Office and ADP WFN
