What you will do:

The Sr. Director, Events is a key project leader delivering innovation on highly visible projects across the organization. Your ability to operate and lead both strategically and tactically in a frequently changing and fast-paced environment will be fundamental to your success. This role is responsible for forecasting, planning and overseeing all aspects of corporate event projects, consulting other departments and agents on external events strategy while leading a lean workforce to meet organizational objectives and enhance brand visibility.

Additionally, the Sr. Director, Events will be responsible for presenting analytics and insights to the executive team on a regular basis. The successful candidate will possess a strong event background, passion for logistics, strategic acumen and superior attention to detail. This role offers the candidate an opportunity to be an integral part of driving the company’s continual growth as it changes the industry. These key duties form the basis for measuring the individual's performance and success within the role and shall include but not be limited to:

  • Develop and oversee the strategic vision for large-scale conferences and events, ensuring alignment with the organization's broader goals.
  • Partner across the organization to conceptualize event themes, content, and innovative formats that elevate brand presence and industry leadership
  • Lead the overall coordination of event logistics, information management, and resource allocation at an organizational level ensuring on brand marketing
  • Collaborate with a variety of teams, executives, speakers and outside vendors to effectively deliver broader visions and meet agent needs
  • Support sponsorship strategy and sales to meet revenue goals and budget forecast
  • Ensure seamless integration of events into the broader corporate strategy, enhancing brand image and stakeholder engagement.
  • Direct the development and management of a comprehensive events calendar that aligns with corporate priorities and market opportunities.
  • Create and oversee project workback schedules across multiple work streams including but not limited to: sourcing, vendor management, creative marketing, registration, food & beverage, room/attritions, transportation, experiences and engagement
  • Create and manage budgets for events, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to financial constraints.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers and vendors to secure cost-effective services.
  • Build comprehensive and creative project overviews for stakeholder alignment and execution
  • Oversees team of project leads (internal and/or external) providing decisions and guidance, elevating items for leader decision as needed and communicating status updates throughout
  • Determine the number of support staff to work with; supervise staff and vendors.
  • Ensure vendors/talent deliver on their services as agreed
  • Scrutinize invoices before seeking payment approvals & maintain events within budget
  • Coordinate all operations onsite during the event providing support as needed - registration, transportation, rooming, catering, entertainment, decoration, etc.
  • Oversee post-event CRM, event reconciliation, analytics and reports to effectively communicate the success of an event to leadership
  • Assist the implementation of various marketing initiatives, and event administrative duties.
  • Assist in the execution of events and marketing promotions in eXp World, our cloud office environment.

How you will grab our attention:

  • Master’s degree required or equivalent years of applicable experience
  • 15+ years experience
  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage event planning teams, assigning tasks, and ensuring a smooth collaboration. Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop contingency plans to address unforeseen challenges during events. Ensure compliance with legal and safety regulations related to events.
  • Networking: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, sponsors, and partners to enhance event opportunities and collaborations.
  • Budgeting and Financial Management: Managing project budgets,monitoring expenses and ensuring financial goals are met.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail
  • Up-to-Date Industry Knowledge: A solid understanding of event planning industry trends is important to identify emerging opportunities, anticipate market demands, and stay ahead of the competition.
  • Quality Management: Establishing and implementing quality control processes and a focus on delivering high quality project outcomes
  • Technological Familiarity: Familiarity with tools such as Monday.com, HubSpot and CVent is advantageous, as these platforms can streamline processes, facilitate collaboration, and enhance productivity.
