Job description

We are currently seeking a skilled Senior Billing Specialist to assist our Accounts Receivable Manager with invoicing and cash applications. The Senior Billing Specialist will play a key role in creating monthly invoices and applying cash remittances, as well as assisting with collections communications and the monthly close process.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create monthly invoices in Workday for all Payments legal entities, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Review bank activity and apply customer cash remittances to open invoices.
  • Assist Accounts Receivable Manager with researching customer questions and requests.
  • Review Accounts Receivable Agings and communicate overdue invoices to customers, including sending Dunning Letters.
  • Track short-term and long-term postage deposits by customer.
  • Provide support for external audits.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and identify opportunities to streamline processes.

EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize and analyze significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Motivated self-starter with problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of ERP environments. Experience with Workday Financials a plus
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Expectation to work primarily in the St. Louis, Missouri office on a regular basis (minimum 3 days a week)
  • Willingness to work outside of normal business hours, if possible, when the monthly invoices are created and emailed to customers.
