POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Executive Director and the Division Vice President, the Programs Director is responsible for providing Cause-Driven management and operations for all sports, rentals and family programing while also providing leadership and support to events. The Sports and Family Programs Director also assumes a leadership role in the annual support campaign. Day to day operations include staff supervision, fiscal control, program development, program area facility management/maintenance, marketing, and volunteer management, hiring, training, supervising and leading their staff team in superior levels of member service and engagement in accordance with the Association standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Division of Duties
70% supervision and management of Sports, Rentals and Family Programs
20% association, family center meetings, annual campaign
10% Annual Giving leadership and other special projects
PRIORITIES:

• Direct leadership of Sports, Rental and Family Programs
• Provides strong leadership and support for attaining association's goals and objectives
• Provides strong fiscal management in all areas of responsibility

Budget and Financial Performance

1. Develops and manages the budgets related to the position
2. Makes necessary purchases, inventories and deliveries of all program related supplies in accordance with association standards

Program Development and Membership Engagement

1. Provides safe, organized, and quality sports and programs that serve the James L. Camp, Jr. Family YMCA community needs
2. Plans, develops and implements sports and Family Programs
3. Creates opportunities for members to form small communities and build meaningful relationships
4. Provides leadership, plan and execute community-programming opportunities in the extended Franklin and Southampton County community
5. Plans, markets and executes quality programs to serve more kids, teens, adults and families
6. Develops, produces and distributes program information necessary to promote assigned programs, in accordance with branch marketing plans
7. Ensures high quality programs through innovative program development, evaluations and ongoing training of staff
8. Expands current sports, rentals and family program offerings with high quality service in accordance with the Association guidelines

Team Performance Towards Organizational Goals

1. Provides strong leadership and support for attaining Association's goals and objectives of the strategic plan
2. Hires, trains, evaluates and supervises sports team members
3. Recruits and trains program volunteers
4. Provides leadership and support for branch management team, annual support campaign, and volunteer committees/boards as assigned
5. Performs the duties of direct reports as needed

Fund Raising
1. Assists and fosters a strong annual support campaign
2. Participates in a successful annual support campaign
Professional Development

1. Completes New Staff Orientation and trainings as required
2. Attends mandatory staff meetings and appropriate Department Cabinets
3. Incorporates the five-character values of the YMCA: Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility, and Faith and promote the YMCA Mission
4. All other duties as assigned

Facility Management

1. Ensures upkeep of related facilities and equipment
2. Effectively coordinates facility usage for assigned programs and activities

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. A Bachelor's Degree in Sports Management/ Recreation/Health Sciences is preferred or equivalent
2. At least 21 years or older
3. 1 to 2 years supervisory experience
4. Must be able to attain CD (commercial driver's license) within 6 months of hire
5. Flexible Schedule, days, nights and weekends
6. Able to Obtain American Safety and Health Institute BLS instructor within 90 days of hire
7. Proficient computer skills with ability to learn new software programs

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS, PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Will be required to walk, stand, kneel, stoop, push, and lift up to 100 pounds
2. While performing duties the employee may occasionally work in the outside weather conditions, and is exposed to wet, cold and /or humid conditions
3. Continuous operations requiring attention to detail and multi-tasking
4. Will be exposed to cleaning supplies
5. Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time
6. Must be physically able to successfully complete required certifications
