Job Description:
KRDO13 is searching for a specialty, non-traditional reporter looking to take live shots and storytelling to the next level. This position will focus on community events storytelling with active and engaging live shots each day. The ideal candidate will be genuinely energetic with an engaging personality and strong on-air presence. This position requires an accomplished storyteller who knows how to make the emotional connection, no matter the story. The ideal candidate will have a knack for cultivating unique, enterprise story ideas that move well beyond press releases and officials. The successful candidate must be able to manage content planning and working ahead to ensure live shots and stories are well-executed.

Annual Salary Range:
$50K+ based on experience.This is a non-exempt (hourly) position.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Multiple live shots each day.
- Attend the daily editorial meeting and pitch enterprise stories.
- Establish and maintain news contacts in the community.
- Shoot, write and edit news stories on tight time schedules.
- May be asked to fill-in anchor newscasts cut ins.
- Be a regular contributor on various social media platforms and engage with the public.
- Stay informed about content in daily newspapers, competitive websites and follow social media regularly.
Requirements:
- A. or B.S. Degree preferably in journalism or English or equivalent experience
- At least 2 years of experience in television at a commercial TV station
- Good attitude and team player
- Strong on-air presentation
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Attention to detail.
