Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Sourcing Leader-Facilities Management/Corporate Services.
In this role, the successful candidate Responsible for providing strategic sourcing services for Facilities Management/Corporate Services spend to NYU Langone Health. Commodities overseen include but are not limited to: Facilities Maintenance Services, Support Services, Real Estate and Housing, and General Indirect system-wide spend. The Leader will execute sourcing projects from start to finish that include financial analysis for RFX packages, vendor negotiations, coordinating with the requesters/end-users, publishing the package to the identified suppliers for bidding purposes, following up with the suppliers to ensure adequate participation, and summarizing proposals back to the requestor/end-user. Leader will work to execute these projects by collaborating with internal teams including but not limited to: Data Management, Procurement, Project Management, and Real Estate Development and Facilities (RED+F). The Leader works under general direction from the Sourcing Manager. Leader will be responsible for collaborating with and providing direction to Sourcing Specialists and Contract Admins.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assesses Needs and Initiate Sourcing Projects - Partner with key stakeholders in initiating new projects based on high spend profile, potential for savings, upcoming contract expirations, process improvement, capital projects, and other related value add. Assists internal clients to specify needs and define supplier performance expectations. Analyzes and validate policies and practices driving demands.
- Sourcing Strategies - Defines sourcing strategies that optimize value in conjunction with requestor/end-user needs and market conditions. Applies project management to assesses most beneficial means to access markets and drive the supplier behavior accordingly.
- Cost Savings - will identify, implement and quantify strategic sourcing savings opportunities.
- Business Process Optimization - will partner with internal clients to improve business processes within (but not limited to) the Supply Chain and Real Estate and Housing departments.
- Stakeholder Presentations - Drafts executive summaries with award recommendations and presents to stakeholders across the organization; the Leader should be comfortable presenting to hospital leadership and executive business owners.
- Market Evaluations - Gathers and interprets market and competitive intelligence through formal and informal processes. Advocates competitive decision-making in the most efficient, least resource-intense process and evaluates supplier capabilities to meet our needs through fair and thorough techniques.
- Analyzation Skills and Critical Thinking - Must possess the skills to interpret and analyze data both financially and qualitatively in order to present and interpret outcomes. Must be able to explain and convey data to all end users. Must be able to identify sourcing opportunities from data and use critical thinking to extract key insights and develop strategies to optimize value in light of requestor/end-user needs and market conditions
- Supplier Selection, Negotiation and Contracting - Establishes business cases supporting sourcing recommendations. Conducts negotiations with suppliers and analyzes contractual verbiage to ensure the hospital's interests are protected while fostering positive relationships with suppliers. The Leader should be able to coach junior team members on negotiation techniques and strategies. Contracts should clearly define service expectations/goods specifications, performance measurement practices and shortfall remedies.
- Supplier Relationship Management - Partners with requestor/end-user to implement efficient ordering routines that include appropriate controls. Assists departments implement sourcing changes, especially if moving to a new supplier and expanding existing service offerings.
- Contract Background - Must be able to analyze contracts, terms and conditions, and ramifications of contractual verbiage as it relates to the product, service, supplier in question and those ramifications within the hospital. Develops contracts supporting our business requirements, including clearly defined service expectations/goods specifications, performance measurement practices and shortfall remedies.
- Relationship Building - Obtain requestor/end-user feedback to ensure alignment/expectations are consistent with their departmental goals.
- Works with requestor/end-user to periodically review supplier effectiveness; remain abreast of evolving needs and keep requestor/end-user aware of evolving market capabilities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelor's Degree in a related field. Minimum of three years, strategic sourcing responsibilities for various commodities both products and services within and outside healthcare organizations of work experience in operational, procurement, sourcing. High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of procurement/sourcing process Desired Skills Sets: Strong analytical skills and ability to work with data in excel - Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Excellent customer service skills; Knowledge and understanding of sourcing/procurement. Preferred Qualifications:
Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.) or other recognized certification

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $110,479.19 - $125,580.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
