ResponsibilitiesUnder the direction of the Program Manager, Digital Media, develops and implements strategies and best practices for Social Media communication and marketing. Research industry and aspirational institution best practices to help inform annual calendar and marketing plan. Use Information to provide support to the Program Manager, Digital Media. Implement a clear Social Media calendar with deadlines for colleagues.
Develops content for the Division of Student AffairsSocial Media accounts and for other digital communications as needed. Actively pursues interest stories that bring pride to the Division through Google Alerts or other methods. Collaborates with Division and campus partners to promote the Division, including its departments, students, staff, and faculty. Support Division efforts through paid and organic Social Media marketing as appropriate. Supports programs and events by attending various events to create and curate Social Media content. Assists with special projects as assigned.
Monitors and responds to comments, messages and trending topics on all Social Media networks for reputation and issue management and opportunities for future content. Reports negative feedback to the Program Manager, Digital Media and Senior Director, Marketing & Communications. Evaluates digital marketing and communication tactics including performance optimization strategies, and recommendations for improvement. Reports findings regularly to team members and upon request.
Engages with division and campus partners to identify best practices. With approval, attends conferences, webinars, and trainings to improve skill and share with team members. May supervise student workers.
QualificationsBachelor's degree and two years of experience, or a high school diploma or equivalent and experience equal to six years. (Note: post-high school education may substitute for experience at the equivalent rate.)
Preferred Qualifications- Ability to plan, implement, and direct photography, graphics, and audio/visual associated operations.
- Knowledge of current media technology and trends.
- Ability to utilize multimedia approaches to training.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
