Social Media Manager
The American Academy of Dramatic Arts was founded in 1884 and is the first conservatory for actors in the English-speaking world. Our marketing and communications efforts have a global reach, utilizing both traditional and innovative methods of storytelling to showcase The Academy’s unrivaled standard of excellence in actor training. Part of the Los Angeles-based Marketing team, the Social Media Managerrole is critical to this effort, deploying technologies to help craft compelling narratives and engage audiences around the world.

You enjoy working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment where your efforts will involve extensive partnership with stakeholders across The Academy.
Working within The Academy’s Marketing team, the position reports to the Senior Director of Marketing & Technology on efforts to promote and support all facets of the institution to both external and internal audiences. This full-time, salaried role is for an in-person position working from our Los Angeles campus; occasional remote work may be coordinated as circumstances warrant.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Manages external-facing Academy Social Media accounts, generating content with an authentic, brand-centric voice and executing campaigns in accordance with strategic directives. Develops methods for engaging online communities and measuring efficacy of Social Media campaigns.
· Coordinates internal development of video projects, including both production and post-production. Works in tandem with additional internal stakeholders and external vendors on collaborative video initiatives across the institution.
· Serves as primary creative liaison between the Academy’s repertory Companies and external vendors on execution of print and digital promotions. Oversees production of key art and posters for shows, manages execution of annual Company collateral, and maintains associated digital accounts on Social Media and The Academy’s website.
· Maintains internal student-focused webpages and information portals, overseeing the collection of requisite materials from stakeholders. Develops new initiatives to engage and inform The Academy’s student community.
· Provides additional project management and creative support in collaboration with the Assistant Director & Senior Director of Marketing.
· Conducts regular photo and video shoots to document teaching and learning on The Academy’s campus, in collaboration with additional external creative vendors.
· Assists with graphic design initiatives and projects, including the development of marketing collateral, key art, and other promotional materials. Works in tandem with internal stakeholders and external creative agency on development and finalization of design assets for digital and print. Supports additional graphic needs for Marketing projects and other Academy initiatives.
· Additional support for data management, event planning, and special projects as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
· Proven track record of creating original content and promoting brand-compliant community engagement on Social Media platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube. Strong understanding of analytics and ability to synthesize content-driven solutions from audience data.
· Successful experience executing video projects for digital platforms, including concepting, production and post-production.
· Strong understanding of photography, digital photo retouching, and associated file workflow.
· Proficient in graphic design and execution of original design/illustration concepts.
· Extensive experience with Adobe Creative Suite (including Photoshop, Ilustrator, & InDesign), video editing software, Social Media platforms, WYSIWYG web content management systems (e.g. WIX), and data analytics software. Ability to quickly learn and utilize new software and technical resources.
· Interest and enthusiasm for exploring emerging trends and technologies within digital and print communication.
· Professionalism and comfort working within a deadline-focused, highly collaborative, and creative environment.
· Responsible, highly detail-oriented, and independent-working.
· Excellent sense of humor, creativity, and play within a team setting.
· Strong affinity for performing arts, theatre, and filmed entertainment.
BACKGROUND
· Bachelor’s Degree required
· At least three years of professional experience working in a marketing, communications, and/or brand-driven environment
· Prior experience in a professional education setting a plus
· Prior experience in arts or entertainment a plus

Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
