Anticipated Pay Range:$28.85 - $32.70
Pay Range Information:Chapman University is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this position. This range takes into account a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Salary offers are determined based on the final candidate’s qualifications and experience, as well as internal equity and other internal factors. The anticipated pay range is not a promise of a particular wage.
Job Description Summary:The incumbent is a dynamic, creative, passionate individual with Social Media management experience, solid writing skills and an eye for design. The ideal candidate will know how to create and implement a Social Media strategy to engage both new and existing followers; will generate posts, stories and reels, often after attending Dodge College events. Under the direction and guidance of the Director of Communications and Publicity, the selected candidate will maintain tracking of happenings for the purpose of creating a visually appealing weekly student newsletter (The Slate). The ideal candidate will be familiar with CMS systems and help make edits on the Dodge College website as needed, and will also have some experience with graphic design to help in the creation of an array of marketing, Social Media, advertising materials and digital content.
Responsibilities:Social Media Management
- Create a Social Media strategy to increase the number of followers on Instagram, Facebook, Tik Tok and X
- Perform analytics to monitor engagement numbers and report findings to the director and dean of Dodge College
- Create posts, stories and reels with engaging captions/language
- Attend Dodge College events, reporting on the action
- Monitor and update digital displays
- Seek out Social Media opportunities around Dodge College including student productions, guest speakers etc.
- Engage students to be part of the content
Graphic Design
- Create designs and images for Social Media and assist with content for the Dodge College alumni newsletter
- Create designs for digital signage, emails, flyers, banners and advertising with guidance from the director of communications
Communications and Marketing
- In collaboration with the director of communications, collate content and design the look and layout of the weekly SLATE newsletter
- Maintain tracking of story submissions from students, faculty, alumni and others
- Ensure engaging content using internal and external newsworthy stories and events
- Using Campaign Monitor, distribute to the wider community
- Send mass communications to targeted audiences in a timely manner. Communications will include information about Master Classes, Career Center workshops, student events, screenings, as well as staff and faculty requests for advertising e.g. academic courses.
Website Maintenance
- Maintain and update website pages with guidance from the director of communications
- Collaborate with the university’s Strategic Marketing and Communications team to adhere to brand guidelines
- Minimum three (3) years of experience managing Social Media in a professional setting
- Ability to create Social Media strategies and campaigns for varying audiences
- Current knowledge of the effective utilization of Social Media and best practices
- Exemplary writing and communication skills
- Familiarity with CMS systems
- Familiarity with the entertainment industry
