We are Douglas C.A.R.E.S, a child-friendly environment for assessment, advocacy, and crisis counseling concerning child abuse and prevention located in Roseburg, Oregon. As the Skills Trainer, you will provide services for families, parents, and other important individuals related to children who are under the supervision of Child Welfare in Douglas County. You will provide education, support, connection of community resources, problem solving in the areas of social skills and parenting skills to children and/or their caregivers.
Other responsibilities include:
· Provide community and home-based services.
· Provide hands-on, evidence-based skills training curriculum to children and their families under the direction of a therapist.
· Wok one on one with children and families against barriers prohibiting successful familial relations.
· Complete documentation of all services in a timely fashion.
· Work within a multidisciplinary team
· Receive consistent clinical and administrative supervision toward professional growth.
· Act as a community liaison and representative of the agency
To be eligible for this position, we prefer you meet QMHA requirements including a bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling or related field or at least 3 years work experience in a similar field and QMHA certification through MHACBO. With the right candidate and the appropriate education, we can help with QMHA certification and supervision.
We prefer at least of two (2) years of professional experience working with children and families where abuse and violence are identified issues. This role requires the ability to incorporate cultural awareness into all aspects of communication and service delivery along with the ability to understand mental health assessment, treatment planning, skills development strategies, and the coordination of services and supports within the treatment plan. The Skills trainer must have a basic understanding of trauma and the impact on trauma on development.

Our Skills Trainer is full-time, with a salary of $48,880-$52,000. For full-time employment, we also offer benefits, based on 40 hours per week, which includes medical and dental insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, short term disability, basic life insurance, AD&D, a simple IRA with a 3% match, and 200 hours of paid time off annually which includes 10 paid holidays, sick time and personal time.
