What we need:
We are looking for a Lead in Shipping that will be responsible for stamping parts, sorting, wrapping, packaging, and preparing parts for safe transit via common carrier.
Job Requirements:

• Will oversee employees in the Shipping Department.
• Will stamp parts as instructed, based on job travelers and customer requirements using Trotec speedy 300 fiber laser engraving machines.
• Check parts for obvious dimensional errors and surface defects.
• Assure all quality and production requirements are met.
• Report discrepancies to supervisor.
• Ensure compliance with shipping specifications.
• Verify that serial/batch numbers and part quantity is correct and satisfies job order.
• Ensure 100% shipment accuracy to customer specifications.
• Package parts and prepare for shipment accordingly - pack, wrap, seal, label, and affix labels to packages (box, wrapping, crate and/or pallet), using work devices such as hand tools, power tools, and label makers.
• Determine sufficient packaging methods and requirements for new products to meet customer needs.
• Post weight and shipping charges. Print and attached labels. Prepares bills of lading for transit.
• Assure all relevant documents are prepared and retained to APP, Inc. and customer standards.
• Maintain files and records of all job-identification procedures – both computerized and hard copy files.
• Order and receive packaging supplies and maintain inventory.
• Help ensures proper storage, inventory and security of all products and materials.
• Will operate forklift, dolly, hand-cart and pallet jack to move products.
• Assist in loading and unloading truck shipments.
• Participate in LEAN manufacturing and SPC activities as required.
• Participate in total quality management projects to achieve continuous improvement.
• Maintain an acceptable attendance record.
• Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace.

Skill Requirements:

• 1-2 years of High School.
• 1+ years related experience in shipping and packing for domestic and international transit.
• Experience with UPS/FedEx and Common Carrier shipping methods.
• Experience with material handling equipment (forklift, pallet jack, carts and dolly).
• Able to understand instructions and safety procedures.

Compensation: $20.00 - $23.73 an hour. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
