Shipping and Receiving Lead. 7:00am-3:30pm. $22-$27/hr

FLAG Solutions is hiring a Shipping and Receiving Lead for a premier aerospace engineering shop that manufactures multi-axis parts and major structural assemblies int Harbor City.

The primary responsibility of the Shipping & Receiving Lead is to oversee the Shipping and Receiving personnel while also making sure the Shipping and Receiving responsibilities are completed in a timely manner.

• Lead and supervise a team of Shipping and Receiving personnel.
• Provide guidance, training, and support to team members.
• Foster a positive and productive work environment.

Inventory Management:

• Oversee the accurate and timely recording of incoming and outgoing shipments.
• Implement and maintain effective inventory control procedures.
• Conduct regular cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies.

Shipping and Receiving Operations:

• Coordinate and execute the Shipping and Receiving activities in compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Ensure proper packaging, labeling, and documentation for all shipments.
• Schedule and coordinate shipments with carriers and freight forwarders.

Quality Control:

• Perform quality checks on incoming and outgoing materials.
• Identify and report any discrepancies or damages.
• Implement corrective actions to address quality issues.

Communication:

• Communicate effectively with internal teams to coordinate material movement.
• Liaise with suppliers, carriers, and other external partners to resolve any issues.
• Provide regular updates on Shipping and Receiving activities to management.

Role and Responsibilities

• Stamps parts.
• Wraps product in appropriate boxes.
• Prepares packages for shipping.
• Prepares paperwork.
• Seals up packages and sends out packages determining best method of shipment.
• Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages. Sends to appropriate person.
• Will operate sit-down forklift to move or hoist shipments.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

• High School Diploma preferred. Prior experience of Shipping and Receiving responsibilities.

Preferred Skills:

• Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Mathematical Skills/Reasoning Ability: Basic math skills.
• Computer Skills: Knowledge of Excel and Word software.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
