Pay range: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
1st Shift: Start time 7am
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Lead Shipping and Receiving Associate position is responsible for tasks that are related to building orders for customers and maintaining finished goods inventory and installation supplies. These tasks include, but are not limited to, lifting and carrying boxes of stone, moving pieces of stone from crates to boxes, and handling large pieces of stone, building orders, yard organization, and customer service.
- Takes measures to improve inventory methods, employee performance and equipment maintenance and repair
- Confers with Production, Installation, and Project Managers to coordinate activities efficiently between their respective departments
- Manages direct delivery activities (including inter-company transfers) to achieve optimum utilization of resources (labor, trucks, etc.)
- Coordinates staging of all product deliveries, both inbound and outbound
- Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and leads workers to ensure compliance with standards
- Ensure timely preparation and shipment of products to customers
- Works closely with logistics supervisor to do the following
- Set and enforce safety standards and regulations
- Help lead monthly and quarterly inventory counts
- Maintain standards of organization of yard, tools, and machinery
- Other duties may be assigned
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Requires three (3) or more years of experience in a warehouse or yard environment
- Computer literate and proficient in MS Office products (MS Word and Excel); must be capable user of email
- Ability to learn to use the Company’s shipping tools and software quickly
- Current forklift certification or ability to obtain one quickly, prior forklift experience preferred
- Regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls
- Reaches with hands and arms to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Ability to lift up to 100 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist

- Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing with management, colleagues and individuals inside and outside the Company
- Ability to utilize appropriate interpersonal styles and methods of communication to gain agreement or acceptance of an idea, plan, activity, product or service from customers
- Excellent time management, decision making, interpersonal, and organization skills
- Ability to communicate in Spanish is a plus, but not required
