The Cotterman Company is the largest manufacturer of rolling metal and fixed metal ladders in North America. We are looking for experienced and motivated production workers to perform various manufacturing operations. Candidates must have at least 1 year experience in Shipping in a manufacturing setting. Essential Duties:
- Assist the Shipping Lead meet daily shipping, and product quality goals.
- As needed, completes all documentation, packaging, and labeling requirements for Cotterman product shipped UPS.
- Ability to identify all Cotterman products and load outgoing freight in a manner to limit potential shipping damage and maximize load density.
- Ability to inspect finished ladders to ensure shipment of quality products to customers.
- Sort and package instructions and parts for shipping with finished products.
- Assist with packaging of finished products.
- Assist finishing as needed
- Ability to read, understand and process shipping documents.
- Select proper products and ensure parts match with shipping orders.
- Coordinate with Traffic Dept. and when needed, call truck lines for pickups.
- Assure that all trucks are secured in the dock locks, or if outside a dock, they are secured with wheel chocks, and have support stations properly engaged.
- Follow safety rules and procedures and maintain a neat work area.
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a manufacturing shipping department preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Cotterman products and parts.
- Ability to operate Company Computer systems.
- Detail oriented with skill in documenting information accurately.
- Demonstrated ability to work productively.
- Reliable with excellent attendance record.
- Ability to obtain a forklift operator license.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 pounds).
- Ability to promote and work as a team member to meet organizational goals.
