Job Overview:
The Shipping & Receiving Clerk will verify and keep records on all incoming and outgoing product. Organizes all product throughout the plant and prepares product for production and/or shipment.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Examine shipment contents and compare with records such as purchase orders, packing slips, manifests, bill of ladings or orders to verify accuracy.
- Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, damages, or discrepancies for reporting, accounting, or record keeping purposes.
- Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, or shipping tickets, to route materials.
- Confer or correspond with establishment representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, or non-conformance to specifications.
- Verify shipping tickets pack, seal, and label.
- Deliver or route materials to departments or designated staging locations using hand truck or forklift,
- Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory.
- Keeps “all areas” neat and organized with each job in correct location for operator access and driver loading or customer pickup.
Qualifications:
- Ability to lift, push, pull 50-80 pounds frequently
- This is a fast-paced facility - attendance is crucial for this position as is the ability to multi-task
- Must have strong attention to detail
- Must be computer literate
- Prior experience in shipping/receiving a plus
- Required HS Diploma/GED.
- Possesses excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organization skills
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
- Forklift certified is a plus
- Very detailed orientated
