Job Summary:
The Warehouse Asssociate is responsible for shipping and receiving paperwork in a timely manner. Verify all information is correct on packing slips/bill of ladings for all inbound and outbound shipments. Coordinate with Transportation Management team drop trailers, delivery appts and add-ons. Track carrier no shows, late pickups and missed appointments.
The Warehouse Associate will also be available for operating a variety of material handling equipment for the purpose of moving, locating, stacking, and counting inventory; accurately pulling customer orders, repacking steel and aluminum wheels as needed, loading, or unloading trucks or other jobs as needed for fill in; following customer specific requirements and staging loads accordingly. On a daily basis inspect and verify equipment is operating prior to the start of the day’s activity. Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods.
Responsibilities:
1. Assign drop trailer pro numbers to daily shipments.
2. Process shippers and receivers in a timely manner.
3. Verify receiving accuracy.
4. Assign dock doors as drivers arrive.
5. Process customs paperwork as needed.
6. Assist will UPS processing.
7. Review historical photos.
8. Create general shippers for manual shipments.
9. Coordinate loading with warehouse associates.
10. Follow up and track late carriers.
11. Prepare drop trailer paperwork and put in red box for overnight pick up.
12. Schedule receiving appointments.
13. Load/unload trucks as needed
14. Follow company guidelines and work instructions
15. Attend management daily/monthly meetings
Required Skills, Education, and Experience
· High School Diploma.
· Team player, experience in working in a highly cross-functional organization.
· Computer skills – intermediate.
· Operate in a diverse environment with a focus on customer service and safety.
· Respond effectively to changing demands.
· Fork/lift truck license/certification preferred
· 2-3 year’s experience operating a forklift
· Working in a distribution environment preferred
· Knowledgeable of OSHA regulations preferred
